Jeito. Can you help me?

Immanuel K. Why are you here?

Jeito. I hope you can help me. I’m in a difficult situation. Can you? Help me?

Immanuel K. How did you find me?

Jeito. I don’t know. Does it matter?

Immanuel K. No. I’m a scholar. Is your issue anything of a scholarly kind?

Jeito. I think so, yes.

Immanuel K. Well then. Tell me about it. Please.

Jeito. A first cause. Is it possible ?

Immanuel K. You cannot prove it. But is it possible? That’s another question. Your question.

Jeito. What’s your opinion? Is it possible?

Immanuel K. Easy now. What do you think? Can we start there?

Jeito. Well, yes. Thank you.

Immanuel K. So, What is your opinion?

Jeito. That it is possible.

Immanuel K. Okay. Now I understand your question. It’s so difficult. A priori, I mean. Been there, done that. It’s so much said. A posteriori …. That’s another thing. Do you have an opinion?

Jeito. We’re here. That’s something. If we take that away …? I think it’s confusing.

Immanuel K. When you put it like that … Okay. Let’s say that we’re here. Having this conversation.

Jeito. Then I think we have do exclude nothingness to deny the existence of a first cause.

Immanuel K. If there is a nothingness and we talk about it, then there must be a cause for anything to be.

Jeito. Yes.

Immanuel K. For me, it sounds too easy.

Jeito. Easy or hard.

Immanuel K. Yes. That is beside the point. You dig and dig. When should you stop? I think you must decide beforehand. What are you after? When you find it, you are done. So, have you done your homework?

Jeito. What’s your opinion, given that we sit here and talk?

Immanuel K. You’re a bit stubborn. May I ask you why?

Jeito. I think perhaps that we have opposite methods and that if we reached the same conclusion ….

Immanuel K. Yes. I like that. I understand.

Jeito. Thank you. Okay. This is about showing your cards. If we show them too quickly, we may lose something that will never come back?

Immanuel K. Now you are very a posteriori.

Jeito. This is difficult.

Immanuel K. Let me think. Okay. Show me something!

Jeito. Your categories.

Immanuel K. What about them?

Jeito. How sure are you?

Immanuel K. Pretty sure.

Jeito. You haven’t been able to read my stuff. I think I need an answer. This is getting messy.

Immanuel K. You’ve been in the void?

Jeito. Close enough.

Immanuel K. I have done much to avoid it.

Jeito. You don’t want it after the fact.

Immanuel K. I may return the urgency. Please tell me what I’ve missed.

Jeito. Come on now. You’re a believer. What does your heart say?

Immanuel K. It’s closed.

Jeito. I’m sorry.

Immanuel K. Is it because of fear, do you think?

Jeito. No.

Immanuel K. Just wanted to check.

Jeito. So, just open it. With all your faith.

Immanuel K. Yes. Of course. I’m sorry.

Jeito. Don’t be.

Immanuel K. Okay. I’m back? This is so strange.

Jeito. Go.

Immanuel K. God is everything.

Jeito. That’s how it goes.

Immanuel K. Thank you.

Jeito. Thank you.
